Frequently Asked Questions

Transformation is not meant to be navigated alone.

I strive to offer a sacred container where your experience is honored,  your emotions are witnessed, and your truth is held with care.

I have compiled the most commonly asked questions surrounding how I work and what it’s like to experience an ERT session. Please reach me via the Contact Page or use the consultation link below if you have any additional questions - I am always happy to help.

  • The session itself lasts about 1 hour. But please allow for 15 minutes on either side of our session for questions/processing (so block out 90 minutes total).

  • If you are holding a lot in your body then there can be varying degrees of discomfort/pain.

  • It is not unusual to experience some soreness for a day or two after an ERT session. Rarely, there can be light bruising.

  • Absolutely not! ERT is a powerful somatic modality for women of every age! I have worked with women spanning the ages of 24 - 73.

  • I am located in Folsom, CA. I also offer at-home sessions for those who prefer to get this work done in the privacy and comfort of their own home (travel fee of $40 applies).

  • There is no special preparation that is needed, other than having an open space available that can fit a massage table. Also, it is important that you feel completely free to express, therefore it is recommended that no one else be in the home during our session. Children, especially, should not be present. And the sensitivity of pets should be considered.

  • This work involves contact with the skin. You will be asked to remove your shirt and bra, but you will be covered by a sheet at all times. There are work-arounds if you are uncomfortable with this, so please let me know in advance.

  • Everyone expresses emotions differently, and each individual experience of ERT can be very different. Sometimes a “big” expression such as screaming comes forward, and at other times the expression is more subtle. It is important to know that there is no “right” way to experience this work. Everything is valid and we always trust in the wisdom of what arises.

  • The inner child is always present, whether we recognize it or not. Connecting with the inner child and allowing them to express is an important part of the process.

  • Hydrate and take some time to just BE with yourself! I do not recommend returning to work or family responsibilities immediately after an ERT session. Take at least an hour to be with whatever came up during your session. If possible, take the rest of the day off!
